Musical Theatre, Neuschwanstein, Fuessen, Germany
For foundations, walls and columns: TRIO, the system with the fewest components
The new musical theatre was constructed at the foot of the Alps with the magnificent scenery of the well-known Neuschwanstein castle in the background. The classic-modern new building is based on the plans of Gottfried Semper for the festival theatre in Munich, planned for King Ludwig II and Richard Wagner, but never built. The building is divided into three parts. A 150 m long window façade connects the principal oval theatre with two side wings. The auditorium is created as an amphitheatre and provides an ideal view of the 520 m² stage.
Among a number of PERI systems used, the site relied on TRIO. A high number of uses was achieved with very few components. The universal applications - formwork for foundations, walls and columns - and the easy handling, also helped to make an economical success of the project.
