Mobile wall and slab formwork carriage saves two months construction time

The underground motorway section in Mondorf-les-Bains is part of a new long-distance road that stretches from Metz in France through Luxemburg and into Germany.
Two tunnel sections with two lanes each had to be constructed by the cut and cover method. The tunnel was designed with changing cross-sections to adapt to the ground levels. Over a length of 300 m the roadway had to be covered by a 1.00m thick flat slab. Then followed 275m with an arched slab 660 mm thick.

The formwork crew set a terrific pace for the walls constructed in advance, with an output of 0.27 h/m² (erection, cleaning, placing ties and moving). Soludec then formed the flat slab withtheir own formwork carriage construction, which PERI expertly extended with standard components for the area of the arched section.
Inaccessible slopes, with varying inclinations of up to 4% made the use of a tower crane uneconomical. But the PERI solution was economical:
