Safe and efficient slab form solution
Combination of MULTIPROP tables and SKYDECK
Imperial Wharf is located at Imperial Road, Fulham, London. The site is a mixed use development with Block C1 being a private residential building. The £4.9 million concrete frame package is due for completion by Easter 2004.
Frame contractor, J. Reddington Limited, exclusively use PERI systems and the confidence gained from years of previous experience of the systems was influential in the preparation of a programme which was deliverable safely and quickly within the overall timetable.
The use of SKYDECK provided the facility of erection from below and satisfied the key first step in the Health & Safety Executive''s ‘Hierarchy of Risk Control'', namely risk-avoidence in respect of falls from height.
A total of 15,000 cubic metres of ready-mixed concrete were poured for the complete project with weekly average slab pours of between 300-400m².
In addition to SKYDECK''s use on soffits PERI MULTIPROP tables, with integral assembled edge protection, were used at the slab perimeter with SKYDECK forming the inner areas.
SKYDECK''s quick strike capability meant that panel and beam equipment could be struck after 2-3 days making it available for the next lift.
By using a specially adapted double height PERI “C-Hook”, it was possible for the tables to be removed from the level below the one just poured, enabling slab construction to continue on a 3-4 day cycle.
