Water Tank Reservoir, Barrie, ON PERI UP Rosett: One System for a Wide Range of Applications
The painting of the elevated water tower in Barrie was a challenge for the contractor due to the fact that a large automobile dealership was directly below. Thus, Dupont Painting required a versatile scaffolding system to create an enclosure ensuring that no sand from the sandblasting operation would fall down and damage the new vehicles below.
Dupont Painting used the PERI UP scaffolding system which rode to a height of approximately 150 ft (45 m). This worked well with the PERI UP scaffolding in that it created a complete enclosure. A beam and plywood platform just below the tank was installed to contain all debris from sandblasting in the enclosure.
Leonard Tawststjerna Dupont Painting Contracting Ltd.: “The 150 ft high PERI UP scaffolding system worked very well. The plywood platform just below the tank and the complete enclosure contained all debris from sandblasting. We then attached hoses to the floor of PERI’s deck and all debris was swept into the hoses and down to the ground into large garbage bins.”
