Cost-efficient Housing Construction Through Standardised Concrete Design
Concrete House, a Belgian company, markets and sells residential housing which offers a number of advantages. Apart from a 50% reduction in the building time, the solid construction design – which also allows a free-choice of internal wall positions – provides the owner with a building shell, with ready to be painted or wallpapered surfaces, at an extremely favourable price.
The TRIO panel formwork could be optimally adjusted to match the ground plan dimensions which meant that filler plates or on-site improvisation was not necessary. Standard formwork only was used on all wall areas and the working scaffold for the tie positions or concreting was tackled with standard scaffold brackets. This resulted in maximum values being achieved for both labour costs and construction time.
Bruno van den Schoor Site Manager “The possibility to shutter both floors at the same time and to concrete in one pour, saved us a lot of time. In spite of the height and the TRIO element extensions, we could achieve absolutely even concrete surfaces.”
