Mass concrete for massive sluice walls safely brought into shape
Rothensee economic sluice This structure will connect the Mittelland canal to Magdeburg harbour and the Elb in future. The dimensions are designed to take large-engine goods ships and barge trains.
TRIO framed panel formwork and VARIO units met the requirements for the Rothensee sluice. 6,800 m² of TRIO and over 6,600 m² of VARIO formwork had to be provided for the formwork.
Through rear tensioning the formwork units the number of time-consuming ties was significantly reduced and large units could remain connected for moving.The maximum deflection of the formwork also remained less than 4 mm with a lift of 4.60 m.
