New Staff Restaurant, Biberach, Germany

Accurately designed and delivered pre-assembled
Formwork for an extraordinary building core

The roof construction on this very unusual looking staff restaurant for a pharmaceutical company is carried by flat-top pyramidshaped cores. These serve as a stairwell, foyer, cloakroom, dirty dishes collection point and storing point for sanitary equipment.

The plan view of the cores showed different side lengths and varying wall inclinations on the rising walls. The asymmetrical position of the virtual pyramid apexes, and the resulting edges of the individual wall areas, produced technically complex construction requirements. In addition, other specifications such as a uniform arrangement of formwork panel joins and cavity-free architectural concrete surfaces also had to be taken into consideration.

For core 1, PERI supplied preassembled formwork elements to the construction site, including filler plates and special components for the tensioning of the edges, precisely matching the areas to be formed. The close cooperation between the experienced site team and client resulted in problem-free construction progress with all requirements being met.

On core 2, the contractors also implemented the proposals of the PERI engineers perfectly and achieved even more excellent results.
