MULTIFLEX and VARIO achieved high architectural demands
This bold architecturally constructed railway station was necessary to relieve the city of Strassburg from individual traffic.
The construction designed by the star architect, Zaha Hadid (born in Baghdad), demanded the complete knowledge from everyone involved in the construction.
An 82 m long and 39° inclined fair-face concrete wall supported the slab over a length of 20 m.
Because of the inclination of the wall the lower VARIO formwork became the formwork soffit. This half of the formwork, that was only removed after the slab had been struck, was also the temporary support.
