Standard and special solutions complete a demanding bridge construction project
Twelve piers of up to 60 m in height are necessary for this new bridge to directly span the 1,230 m wide valley of the Guadiana river near Mourao. They have an octagonal plan. Faultlessly working systems are allowing a weekly growth of 4.50 m.
The 12.50 m wide roadway superstructure is constructed as a hollow box in two concreting cycles. SB-2 brace frames from the standard program were anchored horizontally in the last lift of the piers and formed the basis for a generous working scaffold.
The external web and cantilever formwork with MULTIPROP props and towers was set down on this. Now the slab of the hollow box construction could be poured. Then followed the assembly of the internal formwork and the concreting of the webs and cantilevers.
