The PERI bridge launching equipment: Easy working sections for a 40 m weekly cycle
Two curved bridge lanes, running parallel, will carry the A15 motorway over the Perofilho river in future. The webs and road slab were to be cast in one pour for the double web superstructure.
PERI solved this difficult task with specially constructed bridge launching equipment, the use of which is impressed with simply designed working sequences. The principal part of the construction is a lattice beam which can safely carry 30 t/m. Integrated electrical and hydraulic equipment provides easy handling of the VARIO units suspended on the girder.
The weekly cycle of the equipment provides for three working stages: striking – moving –erection of formwork. The units are retracted by electric controls for striking. Then the suspended VARIO units are moved on the lattice girder over the next pier cap. After the VARIO units are folded up they are exactly aligned to the bridge geometry.
