Magdeburg Sewage Plant, Germany

Peak concrete surfaces, minimum formwork times Up to 400 m³ of concreted walls daily with TRIO 330

Four square cascade activating basins (A1& B1 27 x 90 m in size and A2 & B2 53 x 90 m in size) were part of the new sewage plant construction that is to treat the sewage from Magdeburg and the surrounding district. Sample walls had to be constructed first in which the joints and tie positions of the wall areas remaining visible could be determined.

The joint venture decided to use a PERI formwork system for the square basin too, because of their good experience with RUNDFLEX for the first circular basin – TRIO 330 was selected. Only two panel joints were needed for a concreting height of 7.15 m, by coupling two 330 and a 60 panel together.
The connections could be made quickly, aligned and straight, as well as tight, with the BFD alignment coupler, as the finished surfaces prove. The required number was moreover low and time-consuming waling stiffeners were completely unnecessary.

  • Through the selective planning of cycles by the site planning office and PERI Magdeburg, Basins A1 and B1 could be constructed in only six weeks. On an average the joint venture poured about 250 m³ of concrete a day, and at peak times even up to 400 m³!
The finished concrete surfaces prove that with TRIO, optimum results were achieved, even with these high demands, because the wall surfaces are exactly flat, perfectly aligned and free of any indentations, so that the clients can be satisfied.
